I am officially in a modelling competition! WOOT!

OK, so I joined Cycle 2 of Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, hosted by Felicia! I've just submitted my Assignment 2 picture for the judges to...well, judge. Yay! I'm pretty glad it's a non-elim competition, because it's my first one, apart from one that died which I got a really bad score in, heh...

So this cycle is career themed, so we need to depict our models in a job. Assignment 1 was in the fashion industry - here's my entry:

Lola was ecstatic when she got the job as PA for Delaney Edwards, the editor for Smokin' Sims - one of the most notorious fashion magazines in the world. She imagined herself in a sleek office, typing away on a laptop. However, the truth turned out to be different - Delaney was bossy, and demanded that her requirements were met. Every hour she sent down for a cappuccino with non-fat milk and whipped cream, and woe betide Lola if she dared get it slightly wrong. She was kept on her feet all day, making phone calls and bringing up paperwork to Delaney, to the point where she almost collapsed on the shiny leather sofa.
So that was that. I got these scores:

14th Place (tie) - JewelsRule & Lola 107/150
Felicia - Attention to Detail- 8/10Fun Factor- 5/10Creativity- 3/5Originality- 4/5Overall Appearance/Quality- 8/10Requirements- 8/10Total - 36/50
I thought that this was a fairly ok photo. The quality is good. My main problem with it, is that I had to take major points away because of the fun factor. I like to see reasons why these jobs are awesome, and your model does not seem to be having a good time with it. However, your quality is good, and your idea was original. So...good job with that! Smile
Bliss - Attention to detail 7Fun Factor 5Creativity 2Originalility 3Overall Apperance/Quality 7Requirements 7Total 31/50
Comments - I really liked this photo Jewels but the most important part of this competition and every assignment is to keep a FUN factor to the photo. This felt more of a stressed apperance coming from ur model and had NO fun factor to me at all. This cost you fun factor points and requirement points. I did however love the idea of ur entry and I think if maybe you would have take a slightly different approach to this entry ur score would have come out much better Smile

Early - Attention to Detail- 7/10Fun Factor- 7/10Creativity- 4/5Originality- 4/5Overall Appearance/Quality- 8/10Requirements- 10/10Total - 40/50
Aww, poor Lola! I really love your idea. However not the most creative, it's pretty typical. This pic was not bad, it has so much potenital, but I feel it's really plain. Some clutter on Delaney's desk, a picture on the wall, anything! Lola's pose is perfect, it's just too bad I can't see her face Sad Also, I had to take off points for the Fun Factor, as it seems Lola was not having fun. Overall, not bad!

Which was actually quite pleasing for my first assignment ever. At least I didn't come last, but the people who came first TOTALLY deserved it!

So, in Assignment 2 was when your model runs away to join the circus, which was fun and a really great challenge! I just submitted it there now, so here it is:

It was simple, really - why Lola ran away to join the circus. You see, her family and friends were homophobic, and as it turned out, Lola fell in love with her old boss - Delaney Edwards. They had formed a great friendship over the past month or so, but soon Lola realised that she wanted more than that. She expressed her feelings to Delaney, and Delaney confessed that she felt the same way - but it was just too complicated. The stress of rejection just turned out to be too much, so she spilled all to Laura O'Reilly, who was disgusted. Her family found out and kicked her out of the house, and while she was looking for a place to stay she saw a poster for the travelling circus. Secretly, she adored horses, and working with them and before long, she was able to do her first ever performance as a horseback gymnast! Lola loved her new job, and really excelled at it
!
It was so fun to do, finding Lola the right hairstyle and clothes was a challenge in itself, but getting the "circus tent" (which was actually just a colourful wall :P) was SO HARD I nearly gave up on the idea! I just wanted an excuse to use that hair on Lola since I love it so much. Also, I love Lola so much too. SQUISH!

I can't wait to see the other entries for this round. I think this photo is a lot more fun.

A hair-editing spree!

I have recently gotten into the world of hair editing - yes indeedy. They're not great, but they'll do. The Sim used is the latest Simmeh for Rexy's Shop Me Stunning competition. I didn't want to go ingame because it takes ages to load up. I didn't enter them in the comp because I can't change the background...sadface. Anyway, this was my first one:

I was pretty pleased with it seeing as it was my first edit and all. I posted it on the 'Shop me Stunning thread and Rexy said this:

It has a nice shape! watch the shine though, it's a bit too much. And I know it's tedious, but it could use some more strands, and they should come all the way out to the ends rather than stopping a little short. I would also try to add some strands around the edges so it's not quite so smooth! Hair isn't one big object, it's a bunch of tiny strands. Otherwise, I think you did great for your first time!
So I was pretty pleased with that, and I realised that there was, in fact, too much shine and not enough strands. Therefore, last night I did this:

Which, personally, I think is a lot better. The shine's so much more...shiny, and the strands are pretty good, even if I do say so myself. Notice the shading underneath her chin on the left side? Yup. I shaded.

However, this is the most realistically drawn hair I've ever done. I was trying out some brushes for GIMP I downloaded and decided I'd test out one for drawing hair. I think it looks great, but the shine isn't quite shiny enough. I love those pixies and clouds, and the sparklies on her dress. I do think I could've done more with that shine, though.

And the winner is...

After a day of voting, Bellamy won the heir poll and will be the Houston girl to inherit the house and money. How will her life go? Will there be many bumps in the road? I'm sure you'll find out soon enough but for now, happy Simming!

Heir Poll!

Hooray! I'm so excited for this generation of The Neon Matriarchy, I have a really brilliant scheme - er, story - to do with whoever gets chosen to be the heiress. Here are the girls all aged up with MC:

Here's the thread where you can vote:

So why is it such a frabjous day? Hmm, I wonder...

MY .PACKAGE FILES ARE BACK!

Oh, I missed you so much! *squish hug*

Turns out I just had to re-download the Resource.cfg file - don't know why, but what the heck! My CC is back! Thank you to all the wonderful Simmers who helped me with this - I love you guys! *squish group hug*

So yeah. I mustered up the courage to load up my legacy again and nothing was affected, so the next chapter is now up! Hoorah!

The Great CC Disaster (sort of)

I don't even know what to say. I can't think of anything funny, or witty, or ANYTHING to say as my opening sentence, so you've just got this instead. Ha-ha.

I am perturbed by something. I opened up my game, and was immediately concerned when the intros played. Y'see, I have a no-intro mod, and when the EA logo popped up when it wasn't meant to, I was disturbed. I thought the mod had suddenly stopped working for some reason, so I proceeded to wait for the main menu to load. I noticed it was considerably faster than before, and so presenting more evidence that something had happened. The main menu appeared, and there was no info screen about the mods that I had, so I was very worried. So I went to the CAS world and popped into CAS for a while and guess what?

ALL MY .PACKAGE FILES WERE GONE.

Missing.

Nothing there. Zip. Nada. Nil. Zero.

Which REALLY sucks. So I exited the game to check that my CC was in the Mods and Packages folder, and they were. I was confused so I took out my most recently downloaded items. I have yet to load up my game, and the last time this happened was when I tried to combine all my .package files, which didn't go so well. Thankfully I had created two backup folders for my CC so I wouldn't lose it forever.

It's not as if ALL my CC was gone - I mean, the .sims3packs were still there, so it wasn't as if some freak accident came along and wiped out ALL the CC in my game, so I guess it's not all bad but...

ALL MY PWETTY ANUBIS HAIR! AND MY POSES! AND MY MODS! And now I can't change the legacy babbeh's gender because MC is gone too! Oh, woe is me!

Random Spurts of Simminess

Pose Player is SO AWESOME I think I just died :D

Yes, it's a little late but seriously, WHO CARES? I've had a lot of fun doing photoshoots with the potential spouses for Jack Houston...*eyebrow wiggle*

Speaking of a Houston, have you read my new update on the legacy? I'm sure you have, but anyhoo, Chapter 8 is out and has been out for a while now, I'm just grabbing a few pics for the next update which might be out sometime over the next week...oh, and also AJ's baby's a boy (gosh darn it) so I'll just go into a save slot from further back and...ehem, cheat a little (go MC) so that I can change the sproglet's gender to an eligible heir...ah well, I'm sure nobody will notice. Right? Actually, forget I said anything. Just...forget it, mmkay?

Well, I have to go now so I might post my piccies another time.

Laters!
